This is done by creating "study packs". Study packs can contain: videos, podcasts, articles, etc. A user can either create a study pack from scratch or use/edit a preexisting one. The Center on Instruction is one of five content centers serving as resources for the 16 regional U.S. Department of Education Comprehensive Centers. Explore the links to the left for topic-based materials, syntheses of recent research, and exemplars of best practices. Voice of America Special English is a wonderful resource for English Language Learners. It broadcasts news using a simple and limited vocabulary, and is very accessible to ELL's. Not only does it provide reports on current events, but it also has special series on U.S. History, geography, and many other particular areas of interest. You can access both the audio and transcript on the Web. But since their audio is often deleted, those wanting to do both Extensive Reading together with Extensive Listening practice will do better to use this well-organized site made by some very practical Chinese.
